Arguably, the most important component for generating high-fidelity audio from vinyl is a quality phono cartridge. Audio-Technica has been a leader in phono cartridge design for more than 60 years. The AT-LP70X comes equipped with the AT-VM95C cartridge with 0.6 conical stylus, offering excellent channel separation and low distortion for outstanding tonal quality. This cartridge is integrated into the J-shaped tonearm, which is engineered to minimize tracking errors.

The stylus can also be easily upgraded with any of the other styli (elliptical, microlinear, or Shibata) in our VM95 Series, offering customization that is normally only possible on a turntable with a detachable headshell and cartridge.

The easy-to-use AT-LP70X plays both 33-1/3 and 45 RPM and fully automatic, meaning that it does everything for you at the touch of a button. It also has a built-in switchable phono preamp that allows the turntable to also be connected directly to a home stereo, powered speakers, or a sound bar, whether that component has a dedicated phono input or not.

The three-piece, anti-resonance chassis provides a solid foundation that dampens unwanted noise for improved sound quality. Noise is further reduced by the inclusion of an AC adapter that moves the AC/DC conversion outside of the chassis to limit its impact on the signal chain.
