It seems like just yesterday when we trotted ourselves over to the Staples in our neighbourhood to pick up this little notebook. It had been 2 months since we closed the HMV Superstore and in that time I had met with numerous companies who wanted me to be part of their future. While the offers were tempting and full of promise, there was a part of me that yearned for something more. My past had prepared me to take this leap that I could no longer ignore. The time was now. It was now or never.
This little notebook was my first real step in shaping the work ahead that made this dream called Pop Music come to life. The book went everywhere with us last summer as we met with landlords, advisors and potential vendors. We wrote everything in this guy and so much of the ground work for my business plan fills it's early pages. When the brand launched in November, we started using him to write out our weekly checklists and log customer requests.
He's down to his final few pages now but it’s CRAZY how much has happened in the 365 days since we first picked him up off the shelf at Staples. It has become a testament of my journey so far as an entrepreneur and I'm grateful to have documented so much of the work that went into this dream.
