Originally released in 1963 by tenor saxophonist, Hank Mobley, No Room for Squares features Lee Morgan and Donald Byrd on trumpet, Andrew Hill and Herbie Hancock on piano, John Ore and Butch Warren on bass and Philly Joe Jones on drums.
The presence of the progressive avant-garde pianist Andrew Hill and the looming, ever growing shadow of John Coltrane are both felt on this superior set, which finds the often underrated tenor saxophonist going further towards the edges of his comfort zone than ever before.
