Jake Bugg's sophomore album Shangri La features the singles "What Doesn't Kill You", "Slumville Sunrise", "A Song About Love", "Me and You". The album was produced by Rick Rubin and named after his studio in Malibu, California, where it was recorded in the summer of 2013. Shangri La Studio was once the '70s haven of Bob Dylan and The Band.
Rick Rubin assembled a wrecking crew of Shangri La session regulars includes guitarist Matt Sweeney, bassist Jason Lader, and drummers Chad Smith and Pete Thomas. Yet for all its stellar cast and production kudos, the real star of Shangri La is, unquestionably, Jake Bugg himself. The record is the sound of a new star intensifying their musical colors.
Heavyweight vinyl produced by Virgin Records in 2013.
