Big Brother and the Holding Company returned with their sophomore album Cheap Thrills in 1968. It was their last album with Janis Joplin as lead singer before she started a solo career. It features the iconic hit single "Piece Of My Heart". For Cheap Thrills, the band and producer John Simon incorporated recordings of crowd noise to give the impression of a live album, for which it was subsequently mistaken by listeners. Only the final song was recorded live, a cover of "Ball and Chain" (at The Fillmore in San Francisco).

Heavyweight audiophile vinyl produced by Columbia Records in 2012. Remastered by Kevin Gray at RTI. Lacquers cut at Cohearant Audio. Gatefold sleeve. This edition features the original MONO mix.
