Nala Sinephro's potent and intuitive second album Endlessness dissolves the binaries inherent in ambient jazz and imagines a third sort of music that thrives at their midpoint. Endlessness shows a strong evolution for Sinephro. Where her already brilliant Space 1.8 showed incredible mastery of jazz, this new record is filled with curiosity and energy, desire to push performances and use tension to create mantras – and explore imaginary microcosms.
Endlessness is a deep dive into the cycle of existence. The 45-minute album delicately spans 10 tracks with a continuous arpeggio playing throughout, creating an expansive, mesmerising celebration of life cycles and rebirth.
The album was composed, produced, arranged, and engineered by Nala Sinephro. Performing on the album are Sheila Maurice-Grey, Morgan Simpson, James Mollison, Lyle Barton, Nubya Garcia, Natcyet Wakili, and Dwayne Kilvington, joined by Orchestrate’s 21 string players.
