Celebrate the 30th Anniversary of 'The Comforts of Madness' with this expanded vinyl edition that includes demos and Peel sessions. The debut album from Pale Saints is widely considered one of the greatest shoegaze records of all time.
The album has no gaps between the tracks – it is designed to be listened to as a cohesive whole: one number running into the next, and the band take this maxim to a gloriously inspired level, inserting strange ghostly links or bizarre off kilter passages between each listed track to tie the whole thing together into one complete continuous listening experience.
For the album's 30th Anniversary, Ian Masters has revisited the band's sessions where they demoed the album at their Woodhouse Studio before heading to the Blackwing Studios in London to record their debut album with John Fryer and Gil Norton. These unreleased album demos plus the band's only John Peel Session (recorded 23rd of July 1989 at Maida Vale studios in London) are included with this release.
Limited Edition CLEAR double vinyl produced by 4AD in 2020. Gatefold sleeve.
