Celebrate the 20th Anniversary of The Shins' beloved sophomore album Chutes Too Narrow with this fresh remaster by Adam Ayan, supervised by band leader James Mercer, and lovely new packaging for the vinyl. Highlights include "So Says I", "Fighting in a Sack" and "Pink Bullets".
Following The Shins' breakout 2001 debut, Oh, Inverted World, singer/songwriter/guitarist James Mercer and drummer Jesse Sandoval moved from Albuquerque to Portland, OR. Chutes Too Narrow was recorded in James' basement home studio, with later mixing assistance from Phil Ek.
With 10 songs, clocking in at just over 30 minutes, Chutes Too Narrow is a brief yet entirely scintillating glimpse at chiming, reflective and perfectly skewed pop innovation. Critically acclaimed on release, it is widely considered by many to be one of the best albums of the 2000s.
Exclusive 'Loser' ORANGE vinyl produced by Sub Pop Records in 2023. Die-cut wide-spine gatefold sleeve.
