Originally released in 1980, Seventeen Seconds introduced the darker, emotionally weighty sound for which The Cure is renowned. Highlights include "A Forest", "M" and "Play For Today". Out of all the bands that emerged in the immediate aftermath of punk rock in the late '70s, few were as enduring and popular as The Cure.
