In 1972, after the completion of the extended and expansive project that became the landmark, 18-track Exile On Main St., the Rolling Stones scattered to the four winds. Goats Head Soup was what happened after they reconvened in Kingston, Jamaica with the new songs that Mick Jagger and Keith Richards had written, largely separately.

This is where the Stones' image began to eclipse their accomplishments, as Mick ascended to jet-setting celebrity and Keith slowly sunk deeper into addiction, and it's possible hearing them moving in both directions on Goats Head Soup, at times in the same song.

Heavyweight vinyl pressed by Polydor Records in 2020. Gatefold sleeve. This classic album has been restored to its full glory with a new stereo album mix, sourced from the original session files.
