Small Change is a 1976 album by Tom Waits, released on Asylum Records, his fourth studio release since his debut Closing Time in 1973. It was recorded in July at the Wally Heider Recording Studio, in Hollywood.
Tom Waits' charismatic 1976 album Small Change includes classics like "Tom Traubert's Blues" and "The Piano Has Been Drinking (Not Me)". Many fans feel like this is the album where Tom found his voice, both vocally and with his unique songwriting. The ballads on this album are up there with the best piano men songs in history. Yet it also has less serious moments, like with the quirky track "Step Right Up".
Heavyweight vinyl produced by ANTI in 2018. Remastered from the original analog tapes. Supervised by Tom Waits and Kathleen Brennan.
