Years & Years - Night Call

Year & Years return with their third studio album, 'Night Call'. It features the singles "Starstruck", "Crave", "Sweet Talker" and "Sooner or Later". From its iconic artwork to its euphoric, rejuvenated sound, Night Call is a thrilling new chapter for Years & Years. Inspired as much by pioneering figures like Sylvester as it is French House, at the center of the record is that mermaid of a muse: a beautiful icon luring men to their death, on an album partly about those searching for love (or a lover), but ultimately finding power in themselves.

Night Call marks the relaunch of Years & Years as a solo vehicle for Olly Alexander, following the recent departure of bandmates Mikey Goldsworthy and Emre Türkmen. This decision was sparked by Alexander's desire to take their bright and tuneful sound in a more explicitly chart-pop direction.

The album is loosely inspired by the pounding soundtrack of bittersweet ‘80s bangers that soundtracked the BBC series 'It’s A Sin', for which Alexander starred. All that flavours from that decade – from Bronski Beat, Wham! and Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark and the Pet Shop Boys. The album takes its name from a euphemism for hooking up, and across its 11 tracks - it celebrates dancing the night away in sweaty nightclubs and the giddiness of locking eyes with a brooding stranger across the bar.
